Miami-Dade County Private Schools
Community Blood Centers of South Florida, Inc. shall donate funds through
The Scholarship Assistance Foundation, a (501) 3c Corporation, to support
tuition assistance for students attending post-secondary institutions (e.g.
colleges, universities, community colleges, institutions, technical centers).
The Scholarship Assistance Foundation is the Community Blood
Centers' direct support organization. The Foundation is organized and operated
exclusively to receive, hold and to make expenditures in the form of scholarships
for the benefit of public and private high school students pursuing higher
education.
Community Blood Centers of South Florida, Inc. shall donate to the Foundation
approximately $20 per unit of blood collected from blood drives at public
and private high schools in Broward and Palm Beach Counties and private high
schools in Miami-Dade.
This program was established to recognize excellence in participation in
the blood drive program with Community Blood Centers of South Florida. Every
high school has the opportunity to earn scholarship monies based on the success
of their respective blood drives.
Each scholarship awared will be a minimum of
$500.00
- Demonstrated outstanding personal leadership among his/her
peers by participating in the coordination of a blood drive program at
respective high schools.
- Letter of recommendation from the blood drive faculty
contact, teacher or principal.
- Have an unweighted GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Will be graduating from high school during this calendar
year.

Official scholarship appications must be received by the dealine to be
considered.
A committee comprised of community members selected by the Foundation will
make selection of recipients.
Awards will be presented at the Annual Community
Blood Centers of South Florida Awards Luncheon. The Broward County Council
of Senior Citizens and the North Broward Senior Citizens will award three
additional scholarships at the year-end luncheon for Broward County Public
Schools. |
