Duties: The Java programmer will be required to learn and comply with the coding standards and design patterns decided upon by the team leader. They will be responsible for producing reports obtained from a relational database and displaying the results in web pages. They will also develop dynamic, database driven functionality for the internet and intranet web sites. In the development of all web based functionality, the programmer will be required to implement and modify HTML templates developed by a graphic designer.

Qualifications: 1-3 years of prior work experience; A Bachelor?s Degree from a four-year college or university in a computer related field of study; 4 years of related experience and/or training; Familiarity with the following Programming/Markup Languages: JSP/Servlet, JDBC, SQL, HTML, Hibernate; Familiarity with the following would be a plus: PL/SQL for Oracle 8i, Jakarta Struts Framework, Tomcat servlet engine.

1. Perform routine and emergency compatibility testing for the transfusion of red blood cell products.
2. Resolve simple to complex serologic problems in patients with red blood cell antibodies or whose red cells are difficult to type due to inheritance, drug therapy, or the nature of their disease.
3. Perform direct antiglobulin testing.
4. Perform absorption and elution techniques.
5. Perfom extended phenotyping.
6. Perform neutralization of red cell antibodies using special preparations of specific blood group substances.
7. Screen donor blood for high incidence antigen negetives and for selected phenotypes to satisfy our patients needs.
8. Freeze and deglycerolize red blood cells.
9. Thaw fresh frozen plasma.
10. Pool platelets.
11. Perform periodic quality control on reagents and equiptment
12. Utilize computer systems to obtain necessary data and record test results.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivilent combination of training and experience.
